This robust wooden adjustable casting box with a maximum internal format of A4 is designed for the precise production of custom silicone moulds, casting plates, reliefs, or as a sturdy frame for fixing flexible stencils. The box is made from high-quality, dimensionally stable layered medium-density fibreboard (MDF) with a smooth surface finish that minimises absorption and prevents casting mixtures from adhering strongly. Thanks to a thoughtful system of sliding sides and locking elements, the box allows for smooth changes to the internal dimensions up to A4 size, which significantly reduces material consumption (e.g. two-component silicone) when casting models of various sizes. The construction guarantees perfectly right angles and perpendicular walls, which is crucial for the dimensional accuracy and stability of the resulting mould. For absolute tightness when casting very fluid materials, it is recommended to secure the external joints and corners of the box with sealing modelling compound or hot glue. Once the material has cured, the box is easily disassembled by releasing the fixings, the casting is removed, and the individual parts are cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth and stored for further use.
